Welcome to Easterford

· · ·

The essence of Freemasonry is Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity and that is what will be found at Easterford in abundance.

From its Consecration in 1890 Easterford has established itself as a very special part of Essex Freemasonry, and the often referred to accolade as Essex's Premier Lodge is not without justification. Over the years many local personalities and leaders of the local community have been members. Some have served with distinction as Grand and Provincial active officers.

Easterford takes its name from the original ford across Rivenhall water which was later replaced by a bridge. The Easterford Masonic Temple stands proud in Kelvedon High Street and is a witness to the strong foundations of the lodge and its members.

As part of the Easterford 100th Anniversary of its Consecration in 1990 the then Master W. Bro. R.C. Taylor MBE, PPGStB complied a history, THE EASTERFORD HERITAGE. The extensive detail in that book forms the basis of this digital version, compiled by W. Bro. Keith Brown OBE, PAGDC (W.M. 2013). and has been enhanced by documents discovered in our archives. It is a living history of events that have shaped Easterford over the years which can now be regularly updated.

This website is not just for Easterford members. Freemasons from other lodges and local residents interested in a masonic and social history spanning back to the Victorian era will find extensive information and even possible personal links. For those who would like to learn more about joining freemasonry and Easterford the contact section will direct you.
