Historic Note:

The Master was installed as Bro Boyd and later changed his name to Boyd-Ratcliffe. There were three initiates and two joining members Bro. Kirwan from Kampala and the other Sir Leonard Crossland from Hornchurch Lodge. The master was known for his presentation of the Five Noble Orders of Architecture. The Lodge celebrated 50 years since the initiation of W.Bro. Cyril Deal. His portrait was hung in the Salter Room. It was the year of the 200th Anniversary of the Province and an appeal had raised £251,000 and there was a service of thanksgiving in London.
