Historic Note:
There were two initiates in the year one of whom was the Master’s brother, Richard. He also passed and raised Richard in his year of office. The time of meetings changed to 6pm. The year was marked by several special events. At the July meeting the toast by the IPM, Tony Wood consisted of a ten verse rhyming poem. To mark the 50th year masonic membership of W. Bro. John Deal there was a surprise meeting, for him, at which the PGM made a surprise visit. W.Bro. Ray Eggleton recounted the history of the lodge over the 50 years of John Deal’s membership. He was presented with a framed photograph in full masonic regalia. In October 12 members went to Doyle’s Lodge of Fellowship in Guernsey which was the mother lodge of W.Bro.James Ogier who was the third Master of Easterford in 1892. The Ladies Festival in Colchester was attended by 120 which was an evening of song and cabaret.
