Historic Note:
Several jewels including two Founders jewels were presented to the lodge by the daughter W.Bro.Charles Thorn, Founder and Master in1896. The year saw the setting up of the Maintenance Fund to support improvements to the Hall. There was one initiate but alos two distinguished Grand officers who also had held active Provincial office, Anthony Tasker and John Greenwood. The masonic regalia including the chain of office of Col Higgins, DGPM, was stolen from his car. The lodge agreed to loan the chain of Dr. Salter and fortunately the stolen chain was recovered.
