Historic Note:

A major renovation of the building was needed which eventually cost £780 which was huge sum at that time. Also new crockery and cutlery was required. In October the PGM. Lord Lambourne came to conduct a ceremony of Re-opening after Renovation. This was followed by a house-warming dinner, at which Lord Lambourne in his capacity as Lord Lieutenant presented Dr.Salter with a medal from the King for his services at Chief Special Constable for his part of Essex. The Chief Constable was present and a blessing was given by the Bishop of Chelmsford.

There were seven initiates and three joining members during the year.
