Historic Note:

W.Bro.John Deal,uncle to the new Master gave the address to him, The family connection as continued with the initiation by the Master of Christopher Deal, his Cousin. The address was given by his Father, W.Bro.John Deal who had received the same address 44 years earlier from his Father, W.Bro. Cyril Deal when W.Bro. Eric Deal was Master. A luncheon was held to mark the retirement of W.Bro. John Deal as APGM.

Much of the year in Masonry in the future of the Royal Masonic Hospital was absorbed which had huge debts. It was emotional because some members had benefitted from its care. Easterford members voted on the issue which in effect supporting a sale.
