Historic Note:

The 100th celebrations continued in October with special meeting by dispensation at Moot Hall in Colchester which requited the transfer of the masonic furniture. The meeting was attended by the PGM RW Bro, Jerman, the Past Deputy Grand Master RW The Hon Bailieu, the DPGM, Thornback, six APGMs and members of the Provincial Executive. W.Bro.Taylor was able to read extracts from the Easterford Heritage which he had complied. An oration was given by the Provincial Chaplain W.Bro.Mottershead. The lodge furniture was removed and the tables set up with flowers and candalabraa and 166 brethren sat down to a four course dinner. Two weeks later the Ladies Festival took place and a number of guests were dressed in crinolines, tails and uniforms of the Victorian era. The December meeting W.Bro. Wilkins of the Lodge of Fraternity brought to the lodge a collection of masonic aprons from French, Dutch and American denominations which were ornate,fragile and valuable
